Redyoos x Goodwill: Our Local Partners, Step by Step
Share
In the Pacific Northwest, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s a way of life.
From community composting to second-hand fashion, Seattle and its neighboring cities have built a culture where people care about the story behind what they keep, reuse, and recycle.
At Redyoos, we’re proud to be part of that story — not just by helping people recycle their jewelry, but by working alongside organizations that have shaped the region’s circular economy for decades. One of those is a name you already know and trust: Goodwill.
Why We Partner with Goodwill
Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington has been a Pacific Northwest institution for over a century, helping individuals find employment and giving second life to millions of items each year. They’re experts in reuse, and we’re experts in responsible recycling — so teaming up just made sense.
Through our partnership, we collaborate with local Goodwill centers across Seattle and surrounding areas to divert jewelry from landfills. When donations include pieces that can’t be resold — broken, outdated, or missing parts they’re routed to Redyoos for specialized recycling.
Together, we ensure that metals, stones, and even clasps are recovered, refined, or reused through certified local channels.
Step by Step: How the Partnership Works
- Collection — Jewelry arrives at Goodwill donation centers across the Pacific Northwest. Staff identify items that are damaged, incomplete, or unsuitable for resale.
- Transfer to Redyoos — Those pieces are gathered and sent to our Seattle sorting space. Every box is scanned and logged for traceability.
-
Sorting & Testing — Our team uses magnets, precision scales, and metal analyzers to separate gold, silver, platinum, and base alloys.
Anything still wearable is repaired or donated to local creative reuse programs. - Ethical Refining — Recyclable metals go to our U.S.-certified refining partners, where they’re melted down and reintroduced into responsible manufacturing.
- Reporting & Impact — We share data with Goodwill on the amount of jewelry diverted, materials recovered, and carbon impact reduced — proof that reuse and recycling can work side by side.
Local Proof of Progress
Every necklace, earring, and bracelet recycled through this partnership stays within a transparent, traceable loop — right here in the region.
Together, we’ve helped keep hundreds of pounds of jewelry out of Washington’s landfills, while supporting local jobs and community programs.
And the best part? We’re just getting started.
This collaboration shows that big impact doesn’t require big systems — it starts with local partnerships built on trust.
Why This Matters
The Pacific Northwest has always been a leader in environmental responsibility. By partnering with organizations like Goodwill, Redyoos is proving that jewelry — often forgotten or tossed away — can be part of Seattle’s broader sustainability ecosystem.
Every piece that’s recycled or repaired represents more than just metal saved.
It represents connection — between businesses, nonprofits, and everyday people who care about where things end up.
