Earth Day 2025: A Letter from Our Founder

Earth Day 2025: A Letter from Our Founder

Dear Friend,

Every year, Earth Day reminds us how fragile and beautiful our planet is. And every year, many of us quietly think the same thing: I care, but what can I really do? I used to feel that way too.

Before I started Redyoos, I worked for some of the biggest fashion companies in the world. I saw how much jewelry, packaging, and metal waste ended up in landfills, even the beautiful things we thought would last forever. I cared deeply, but I also felt small. The problem seemed too big, too tangled, too far away for me to touch.

But then I began to notice the people who were making change.

They weren’t billionaires or scientists. They were ordinary people doing small, real things choosing to recycle, repair, reuse, and rethink what they already had. That’s when I realized: doing good doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as easy as opening a drawer.

A Lazy Way to Make a Real Impact

Here’s the truth — most of us aren’t going to build solar panels or plant a forest this weekend. But that doesn’t mean we can’t do something meaningful.

If you have a box or drawer of old jewelry sitting somewhere, you’re already halfway there. Those tangled chains, single earrings, and broken pieces aren’t trash — they’re tiny treasures made from real materials the earth gave us.

This Earth Day, instead of feeling hopeless, try this simple act: Send your jewelry back to Redyoos.

We’ll recycle, reuse, or reimagine your pieces into something new — giving them a second life while keeping precious metals out of landfills.

No guilt. No hassle. Just a small, beautiful act of care that actually matters.

Why It Works

Every single kit we receive helps reduce the need for new mining. Each recycled gram of gold, silver, or copper prevents pollution, saves energy, and cuts carbon emissions. When thousands of people take this one easy step, it adds up — proof that collective action works best when it’s simple.

It’s what I call lazy sustainability — the kind that fits real life. Because if we want more people to join the movement, it has to be effortless.

From Me to You

If you’ve ever looked at the state of the world and felt too small to help, I want you to know: you’re not alone. That feeling of helplessness is exactly why I built Redyoos — so we’d all have one small, real way to make a difference. You don’t have to fix everything. You just have to do something. So this Earth Day, I invite you to start right where you are — with what’s already in your home.

Request your free Redyoos Mail-In Kit and give your old jewelry a second life. It’s simple, free, and it works.

With gratitude and hope,
Cleo Escarez, Founder, Redyoos
