Redyoos Founder Cleo Escarez to Speak at TEDx

A Moment I Never Saw Coming
If you told me two years ago that I’d be speaking on a TEDx stage, I would’ve laughed.
Back then, I was just a Seattle woman with a problem that wouldn’t leave me alone — drawers full of old jewelry and no good way to recycle it. I had spent my career in fashion, watching the enormous waste that happens behind the scenes. Beautiful pieces made with precious metals were ending up in landfills.
That didn’t sit right with me.
So I started Redyoos, a simple idea built on a single question:
If we can recycle cans, clothes, and cars, why not jewelry?
Today, that idea has turned into a nationwide free mail-in recycling program — and this November, it’s taking me to the stage at TEDxBelltown Women
Event: TEDx
Date: November 8 2025
Location: Art Love Salon Seattle

The Theme: “Our Heroes Journey”
This year’s TEDx theme is “Our Heroes Journey”.
At Redyoos, that story began with a simple, overlooked problem:
what do we do with the jewelry we no longer wear?
From that question came a journey — one filled with courage, uncertainty, and small but powerful steps forward. The hero’s path isn’t about grand gestures or fame. It’s about choosing action over apathy, meaning over waste, and care over convenience.
Recycling jewelry sounds impossible at first. Most people don’t know where to start or who to trust. But through transparency and simplicity, we’ve made it not only possible, but easy. Every time someone sends in a Redyoos Mail-In Kit, they’re not just cleaning out a drawer — they’re creating real environmental impact. Every gram of gold or silver we recover means less mining, less waste, and more circular beauty in the world.
That’s what I’ll be talking about on stage: how small, forgotten things — like an earring or broken bracelet — can ripple out into something much bigger.
“When we recycle jewelry, we’re not just saving materials.
We’re reshaping how we think about value itself.”
Seattle Roots, Global Vision
Seattle is where Redyoos was born — in a city full of dreamers, innovators, and people who genuinely care about doing the right thing.
Join Me in the Room
If you’ve ever wanted to see what’s next for sustainable fashion, circular design, and everyday impact — join us.
You’ll hear stories from other local innovators and changemakers who, like me, believe that transformation begins with ordinary people choosing to do something extraordinary.
A Personal Invitation
When I walk onto that stage, I won’t be speaking as an expert — I’ll be speaking as someone who simply couldn’t ignore a problem anymore.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about participation.
It’s about finding beauty in what already exists, and proving that sustainability can be personal, meaningful, and yes — even beautiful.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
